Miranew Cinemas Tamsui
Miranew Cinemas Tamsui 美麗新廣場淡海館 Review
New Square mall in Taipei…is new! So that’s why I really like the quality of Miranew Cinemas Tamsui 美麗新廣場淡海館. It’s also one of the biggest movie theatres in the Tamsui area with giant movie screens.
The ticket prices can vary from NT$240-380, depending on the type of screening. Since they offer films in 2D, 3D and GIANT screens.
Miranew Cinemas at New Square Mall Tamsui 美麗新淡海影城 is located on the 2nd floor of the mall. You’ll purchase your tickets from the concessions stand, which also offers a variety of drinks and snacks. From my experience, this is one of the few places in Taiwan that sells actual churros.
Inside the theatre, it’s big! The seats are very comfy and use a paper headrest, similar to something you’d find on an airplane. I actually really liked that because it keeps the seats much cleaner. Of course, I’m assuming they switch those out daily. Lastly, the arm rests are locked into place so you can’t move those for extra space
At the end of the movie, you just exit through the cinema entrance and you’re back in the mall.

Money In Taiwan
Tax Is Included In The Price
All displayed prices in Taiwan are the actual price. Tax is already included and for large purchases, tourists visiting Taiwan can get a 5% Taiwan VAT refund at the airport Tax Refund counter. Some shops offer this service too, but they will require your passport.
Taiwan Is Cash Only (For Most Small Shops)
The primary payment method for all transactions in Taiwan is cash. It’s very rare for small shops to take anything other than cash. It’s more common to see places accept the Taipei Metro Card as payment rather a credit card.
Supermarkets and convenience stores in Taiwan (7-Eleven, Family Mart) do not accept credit cards (at least not American credit cards). You can only make purchases by cash or by using your pre-loaded funds on your EasyCard.
